Quarterfinals This Week

This Friday we will be traveling for the Quarterfinals for Texas 2A Division 1 High School Football Playoffs......

Here we come..... Facing the same team as last year in 3rd round. The Arp Tigers. We are expecting another win, but it could be very close.... Last year it came down to the end with just 2 points ahead. Good luck to the Wildcats.

This Kids are Champions

The Kirbyville Wildcats

are headed for the 2A Division I State Championship Game.

The Wildcats are the only Southeast Texas Team left in the Playoffs.
We will be facing the Muleshoe Mules Saturday at 6pm at the
Gopher Warrior Bowl in Grand Prairie Tx.

If your in the area and would love to see History made and a group of kids that can really play football we would love the support.
The Cats have worked real hard this season and are making history in our small town. This is the first time ever that our team has ever been to the State Championship.

Come out and support our Wildcats!!!!
And if you can't come in person I would like to
ask your support with lots of prayers!

pains, turkey and some football......

Well our week started out on Sunday getting ready to go to Church, planning for a blessed time. Chris has been having a messed up stomach for about 3.5 weeks and then a horrible pain hit. Trying to get him to the car to go to the hospital, he hit the floor and could not get up. A little freaked out by all that was happening and knowing he needed to get to the hospital. Not sure if the pain was a result of his stomach being messed up or if something else was going on. I called 911.

Turns out he was trying to pass a kidney stone. I have never had one and don't care too now after seeing the pain he was in. Dr said it was probably a result of be dehydrated the last few weeks. It was a wild ride for the next day till that little booger came out. It was only 2mm. big but it sure caused alot of pain.

With a short week at school and work I was ready to get into the holiday. Thanksgiving is always good eating. I love all the fixings that go along with the Turkey. We had a house full of people at the In-laws. Very Thankful for our family.

And with the end of the week here it is time for football again. Dustin has been treating his ankle all week with big hopes he will get to start tonight. This is our biggest and toughest game yet this season. It will be a good one.

We are going early to insure a seat since most of all our 2400 pop. town will be there, along with others from nearby communities. I have been praying this week for all the players health and for a victory.
This is the Quarter finals, next week is Semi finals and the following week will be the State Championship. I am so excited for my son, our football team, cheerleaders, and our town.

GO CATS!

(Lauren is on far left in the air)

We won our first round of playoffs. Final score was 34-15. Now that we are in the state playoffs JV cheerleaders get to go cheer with Varsity. So I will get to pictures of Lauren cheering for Dustin.

The team got together at the end of the game for a picture with the District Championship trophy.

our first day

Monday was a milestone for me as a mother....... The last of my children started school. We have been preparing for this all summer. He was excited about his classroom, his teacher, his backpack, and his red lunch kit. He even rode the Bus home today, with his older brother of course. Chris was home today waiting for them. Now today, they will be going to the babysitters house after school and last year that was the same bus for either stop. But this year is a different story. The bus that comes to my house is now driven by a lady I know and so yesterday morning the Lord really laid in on me to call her. I just wanted to tell her how if the older kids are at home then the boys would get off at my house and if not then they would continue on to the baby sitter's house at the end of the route. Well good thing I called her, because she no longer goes by my baby sitter's house. They have combined some of the routes. Even though the school didn't inform me of this. Now my kids will have to remember another bus #. Anyway, long story short I am so thankful that I called her. So last night I was explaining to Lane that he would be riding a different bus today because he will be going to Mrs. Amber's. His reply was....... "Oh no I'm not riding the short bus there am I?" I couldn't help but laugh....
I have some pictures but I have not got them off my camera yet.
Also last night was our Community Wide Pep Rally....... Lots of fun. They introduce the football players, volley ball players, cheerleaders, and flag guard. The band plays and the cheerleaders cheer. It really gets us "Pumped Up" for the football season. Our town is small and we are all fans of our high school football. We dropped down in a division this year and we are predicited to really well. I am exicited for Dustin, he made first string Center.
Pictures to come.......

Did you dress yourself dear?

Sorry this isn't the best quality of picture. It was taken with a cell phone. Lauren has been helping out with watching the boys some this summer to save on money. Today I had to make arrangements for them for a couple of hours because her cheer leading practice was rescheduled for today from 10-12 pm. I ran home to pick them up to take them to the sitters and as I drove up they came running out to the car. Lane had his black cowboy belt in one hand and the other was holding up his shorts so they wouldn't fall to his ankles. I got out of the car and he asked right away for me to put this on, shoving the belt in my face. I asked if he got dressed on his own and He said, "Yeah mom". So I did what all good moms do, I told him how proud I was of him dressing himself.
As I was putting his belt on, knelt down beside him, I couldn't help but notice the red fuzzy socks of mine he had on inside his rubber boots. Oh just to top off the outfit of Red fuzzy socks, Camo rubber boots, Plaid shorts with cowboy belt, The USM shirt he has on is on backwards. And the "do" is left over from last night at about 8 when he wanted his hair spiked up.
Not sure if this is a boy thing or a 5 year old thing.
Got to love it.

sucking up the dirty fuel

Friday night after moving beds around for the boys rooms my vacuum bit the dust. So Lane and I made a flying trip to Walmart to get a new one. Boy I didn't realize how much my old on wasn't picking up. I have used it everyday since then and I am still getting tons of dirt out of the living room carpet. I guess it is time to do a shampoo on it.

On the way home I noticed that my car was driving weird. Then Sunday Evening on the way home from Church my Service Engine Soon light came on. So yesterday Chris drove it to work to see what I was talking about. Well it died on him twice coming home. Sorry Babe, Glad it was you and not me. I am so thankful that we still have our older truck. We kept it for Dustin when he turns of age next month. I guess it will be my ride for the next week or so til I can get mine fixed. Beings it is going to cost me around $500 I have to wait til next week to do it.

My finances are a little slim this week because there is so much going on. I am supposed to pay $250 ded. tomorrow for Lane's EEG, not going to happen now. They will be Lucky I am paying less than half, I leave for Mississippi to my Nana and Pop's on Saturday. Well just the $ for diesel alone is going to eat my lunch. And Chris is going Friday to finish his Tattoo. That has been scheduled for weeks now. So since we do have 3 vehicles my Tahoe is back burner for a week now.

Today is Dustin and Alicia's 6 month anniversary. Oh first loves. It is so cute. They are really both good, smart kids. We love her and she is so sweet.

Thursday is a big day for us, too. Lauren has Cheer tryouts Thursday. She is trying out at noon because she runs track and has a meet that afternoon also. So they are letting those on track try out early. They will not know if they made it or not til after the others try out which won't be til 4pm. She will have to wait for a phone call. We also have to be at a funeral at 2pm, 20 mins away so hopefully things will go smoothly at try outs and we (Dustin and I) won't be late for the funeral.

It is for one of Dustins best friends' cousin. Her name is Hannah and she was born with an enlarged heart and had a heart transplant early on. She has battled with this all her life and it has been alot of ups and downs for her and her family. Well God called her sweet young soul home Sunday night. She has been in good health lately and just didn't feel well Sunday evening. Said she didn't feel good. Sat down after her bath that evening after 9pm and went home to be with her Jesus. Just like that. Just peaceful and painless. She was 10 years old.

One of the kickers to the story that has been bothering me is that my coworker's, that took her own life back in January, Husband and boys were there when Hannah died. Her dad and Laura's husband are great friends.

Took the Plunge

Well I broke down and did it. I finally bought a laptop and got wireless Internet. I should have gotten 4 more of them cause I don't even have a chance to get on it with all the kids and Chris wanting to get on. But I am glad I finally took the plunge.

I bought a nice Gateway from Best Buy for a really great price.

We are in TAKS this week so Wes isn't starting practice till the end of the week. Lauren is in Cheer tryout practices all week.
We are awaiting our new addition to our family to be born. Chris is getting a new puppy. And he has already named it and doesn't even know what she will look like. Her name will be Gypsy.

Houston Parade and USM game

We are back and had a wonderful time in Houston for the parade. It was a very packed week with lots of fun and people. There was 230 cheerleaders and with family, chaperone's, etc. Not too sure our total count but people from all over were there. The girls had a great time and did a great job for the parade. We had police escorts for our 11 tour bus so we got to run red lights and go down one way streets often.

Here is a video of our time there.

Then while Lauren and I were in Houston, Chris and the boys were in Mississippi for Thanksgiving. They went to the USM game on Saturday and here are some pictures of that. They got down on the field after the game and took a picture with Chris's favorite player on the team. He gave the boys his arm bands he wore in the game. Lane had his first run in with the police. He was climbing on the fence and the cop came up to him and asked him where his seat was and to get in it.

Time for the Parade

Well Lauren and I (and another cheerleader from school) are leaving out Tues. at noon. We are so excited and ready, well almost. Still lots to pack. I am ready for the break. All though we will be busy it will be nice to get away from here. Home, work, hustle and bustle of my daily hectic life. Our schedule is going to be pretty full. Lauren is not looking forward to the late nights and early mornings. Especially Thanksgiving Day when we have to be loaded on the bus for the parade at 6:30 in the morning. Boy that is going to be an early morning.
Since we will not be here for Thanksgiving I wanted to wish every one a great one.

Thansgiving Day Graphics

I am going to miss the traditional being with the family and pigging out on our favorite foods but this will be worth it for her chance to be in the parade. We will have a Thanksgiving Dinner but it will be buffet style with only certain items from the hotel. So it won't be our favorites. (or home cooked)
I will have lots of pictures to share and I am sure lots of fun things we did.

Tuesday night we have a Mexican buffet dinner and meeting for me and a practice as a group for the girls. Then early Wed. morn Breakfast Buffet, off on the bus to NASA, then to shop at the Galleria, (Lauren is looking forward to this), then back to the hotel to get ready to go by bus to Tin Hall Ranch for BBQ dinner, dancing and entertainment. When we leave there they are taking us straight down town for an on site practice. We are not due back to the hotel til 11 p.m. Which by the way is the J W Marriott right by the Galleria.
The next morning is going to come early...... get up, get ready, down stairs for breakfast and load the bus at 6:30 am. Whew...... Lauren is going to be a wee bit grouchy that morning. I'll have to get her to drink a cup of coffee with breakfast. The Parade starts moving at 8:45. After it is over it is back on the bus to the hotel for our Holiday Dinner. Then really we have the afternoon to do what ever. I think we are going to try to go Ice skating if the mall is opened. That evening we are going after dinner to the lighting of Downtown Houston Festivities. That will be it really. We leave Friday morning!

God threw a Monkey Wrench

I had the Thanksgiving holidays all planned out. Lauren and I are leaving Tuesday afternoon for The Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade. We will be there all week long and there was no sense in coming home Friday to turn right back on Sunday morning to go to get Dustin from his dad's house. So I price lined a room near there for Friday & Saturday night. They were suppose to go to Lake Tahoe for the week but for some reason that trip was cancelled. Any how, Chris and the boys will be at his parents for Thursday and leave Friday morning to go to Mississippi for the weekend. He wants to take the boys to the USM home game on Saturday. So everyone was going their different directions for the holiday. Which honestly is not me to plan something like that but Lauren had the opportunity to be in the Parade with the UCA All Star Team and she wanted to do it. The trip alone cost $1214.00 for the both of us and it is non-refundable. So we are both going regardless of what happens. But now is the dilemma of H.S. Football Playoffs. We play Saturday and I really think there is a good chance of us winning considering we have already played and won against this team this year. Sorry Jen. But if they do win that means that they will play again next weekend and will have practice all week. So now Dustin will be making a change of plans. The only problem is we have to wait til Sat. to see what they will be.
This is the part that drives me crazy. I can't stand to have every thing lined out and then something or someone throw a wrench into my stuff.
Since I have already price lined and paid for my nonrefundable hotel room for 2 nights, will be out that money and will be coming back home from Houston on Friday. We will be going probably a few hours away for the game on Saturday and who knows where Dustin will get to eat a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday. Poor guy! He told me last night, that it didn't matter if he was home by himself, He even said he would cook for himself....... so sad. He doesn't want to intrude on any of his friends for their family time traditions. Although I am sure there are plenty that would love to have him.. There is noway he can go with me and he doesn't want to go down to Chris's parents cause then he will be missing practice that day.
Oh Why do things have to get messed up after I have put so much time and thought into it.
Well one thing I have learned is this is not my plans for things, it is Gods planning and timing. He knows the whole picture. He knows what all is going to be going on and happening. I don't, we all don't. It is God's wrench that gets thrown into my plans. That is the problem a lot of the time. We have our plans made and totally forgot to consult God on them. The Lord has it all lined out for next week already. I will just have to go with the flow and deal with it. I will be posting about our trip on Monday and then when we get home. Since I don't have a laptop. Unless I can use a PC at the Hotel.

Don't look now ~ It is the weekend!

And another busy weekend ahead. I am so tired and still won't get any rest this weekend. Maybe I need some energy pills. It is homecoming weekend. Big game tonight, parade early in the morning and home to clean my horrible looking house. Of course everyone else has plans already so I will be doing it alone (as if the is any other way, right?). Maybe I can be really motivated to get something, or should I say A LOT done! With PeeWee football over now (Praise God) that frees up my Saturdays again. YEAH!

Junior High had a home game last night and here is Lauren cheering.

That stunt right there scares me every time. I am so afraid that they are going to over throw her and then she would go head first into the fence.

Hopefully I can get some pictures of the parade in the morning. We are all going to be in it. Chris's new truck will be in it for Dustin's girlfriend, Alicia, who is a FCA Duchess's, Dustin is on the FB Float, Lauren is on the Fire truck with the Cheerleaders, Wes is either going to ride a float with the PeeWee FB players or in Chris's truck, and Lane and I are going to be on the Awana float for the church. This is the first time that all of us are in the parade. I bought an extra bag of candy since we will be throwing it out this time instead of picking it up as a spectator.

Update on Colleen. She is at home recovering from surgery. She came home Tues. It has been painful but she tells me there has been real improvement. Lots of healing to do! Keep her in your prayers, she needs it!

The lord is leading Chris and I in a different direction as far as work. There is alot going on with the company he works for and they are expanding to a 2nd shop here in Kirbyville. There is alot to be discussed and decided. It is happening so quickly. We have alot to be praying for! (and to be thankful for). We are trying to follow the lord's direction and turning to him for answers. He will not put too much on us that we can't handle, and he will be right there with us through whatever happens! Praise God! He will never fail us.

OMG! Where is that Check?

First, I want to say that Dustin did well with his hernia surgery Friday. He is sore and swollen but will recover. These past weeks have just totally worn me out. Dr. appts, Medicines, Hospitals, Surgery and running around like crazy. I am just slapped worn out. Time for some down time.

This is really neat. Alicia (Dustin's Girlfriend) had a basket of goodies done up for him and this Money Flower was in it. I think it is so cool.
We are getting Sadie Bell's Ears Clipped today. She will have to stay over night at the Vet. Poor little girl she is not going to know what is happening to her. I will go get her tomorrow after 10am. She and Harley are getting so big. She wts. 25lbs and he wts. 16.2 lb. That says alot for him. He was so sick and little. He has really bounced back. DH even took him in this morning to show him off at the vet's office. They couldn't believe it.

Saturday is the day for Wes's peewee football games. Here is a picture, he is #65. I have no idea what position he plays. They all look alike out there running around. I say that they need to have color coded helmets.... Would make it easy for all us moms.

Saturday I got a check in the mail from my Dad to help Lauren and I go to the Thanksgiving Day parade in Houston. Thanks Dad! That evening I started looking for it to put in my wallet and it was missing. No where to be found. My poor daughter had to get down into our "burn hole". We live in the country and that is how we get rid of our trash. I lowered her in, not once but twice. Still no check. I was sick. $262.00 Gone! You know what could have been going through my mind. I prayed so hard for it to be put right in front of me, Show me where it was. After going out of my mind all evening and trying to figure out a plan I decided to quit worrying about it. The next morning I got up, went to the bathroom, while looking out my window, I about fell down. Praise God, there it was. The envelope with the check still in it, unharmed. It was sitting right there by itself. Why it took overnight for the Lord to show me I will never know, but he did that is what matters. So I had a really good day with the lord. We had a great day at church also. We had a special service for students. It is really neat. Each adult will be a prayer warrior for a child. All the kids, every age, made a card with their picture and personal info on it. They had the chance to put special prayer request on it. We will pray for "our kid" all year and at the end of the school year we will have another special service where the kids can testify.
