Is Jesus Your Ant?

Is Jesus Your Ant?

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.

As I was sitting on my porch watching the red birds, something caught my eye. I could see a white moth moving across the pavement. It appeared to be floating, but I realized that an ant was carrying it. One single, tiny ant hauling a moth close to 20 X’s its own size. The ant was so careful to balance and keep a hold on the moth. It was then, I thought about how weak I truly am. God created every living thing, with humans being his masterpiece. He made ants small, but strong. They can gracefully haul around objects that are up to 50 X’s their own weight. Compared to ants we are weak and helpless. We struggle to drag around all our garbage everyday. Eventually we run out of energy, trip up and fall. Jesus did not intend for us to be so strong. He wants us to depend on him. He has already taken our troubles to the cross on Calvary. We need to have faith in him, trust him, and ask forgiveness. Ask him for the help to carry our load. If we will allow him to, he will carry us as the ant did the moth. Praise Jesus!!!

Broken Into Beautiful

This was the first time that I have ever heard this song, but I would have to say that it could very well be my life song. Praise God for his mercy and grace on me!

New Licenses and a Ticket

Jenny Finch-Team USA Pitcher

Friday night we had ball games and Colleen and Shelby came up. Afterwards we went home and hung out. Saturday we left about 11 to head to the big game. We stopped and ate before we got there. We got there really early to insure a good seat. It was nice weather and was not too hot. Team USA won 2-0. I have never seen a game played with such good players, cause I was wanting a little more action on the field. It was 3 up and 3 down the whole game. We didn't get any autographs. There was no way we were going to stand in the mass of people. It took us about 30-40 mins just to get out of the parking area. There was a record 4,126 people there.
All of these were taken before the game during warm up.
Monica Abbott

This was Chris's favorite shot!
After we got back we went to help finish off the crawfish at SIL house.
Sunday morning was great. ALL my family was in church with me. Praise God! Afterwards we went back over to SIL house and cooked for Dustin's 16Th birthday. We hung out, cooked, ate, played ball and really just had a nice relaxed day. I can't believe that my baby boy is growing up so fast.
Monday I took the day off work for my Birthday Holiday and Dustin and I spent the day together. He had a Dentist appt and needed to go get his DL. I asked if he wanted to drive to town, but he didn't. I sure wished he would have. I got a speeding ticket in a construction zone, which in Texas that automatically doubles the price of the ticket. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! There goes money toward my camera I wanted.
After that I got my hair cut, he shopped, I shopped, my sister met us for lunch, went to the Insurance office twice, to the dentist and then home to watch Wes's ball game. I think the winning score was like 22-8 or something. He again, got the only Home run of the game. He has another game tonight and one Friday also. Tonight we start kid pitching. This should be very interesting. Wes will be on of them this year.

Mercy Me Bring The Rain Video

Mercy Me I know

Gonna see me some FINCH!

Happy Belated Birthday to me! I was so busy yesterday that I didn't have a chance to blog at all yesterday. We had a busy day at work, since it was our Annual Meeting. But I did have a nice day. I got several goodies from the ladies at work and my DH sent me these.

He also cooked me dinner, Mexican Cornbread, Feista Corn, Smothered Potatoes, and home made hot sauce. Lauren made me a cookie cake and decorated it. It was a nice evening. We are going tomorrow to watch Team USA Softball play. We are so excited. Should be nice weather and alot of fun. The guys are ready to see Jenny Finch . We bought our tickets at the beginning of the year and have been looking forward to it. It is a sold out game in Sulphur, La. againist the Ragin' Cajuns. One of there players graduated from our High School. My sister is coming up to keep Lane and we are taking my neice Shelby with us. Now she is on cloud nine about it. She is wearing her last years softball jersey to get autographs and bringing 2 softballs. She has called us every evening this week just all giddy about going. They are going to stay all weekend and go to church with us on Sunday. Yeah!

Which is also Dustin's Birthday. He will be 16. Whew! Where has the time gone? My baby boy is going to be 16. When I dropped him off at school this morning he made sure to tell me that, it was the last time that his momma would be taking him to school........ oh I could cry. I am having a hard time dealing with him thinking that he is all grown up. I am taking my Birthday Holiday off on Monday and taking him to get his DL and then we are headed to Beaumont for the day. He ended up having to go with me for a followup Dentist appt. But I plan on getting my hair cut, shopping for myself and eating a nice lunch. I wanted to get a full body massage but I won't have time for that. We also have to go by the insurance company and signs some papers.

I hope to get lots of good pictures this weekend at the game so be looking for them.

I am a Christian

~When I Say I am a Christian~

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not shouting, "I've been saved!"
I'm whispering, "I get lost!
That's why I chose this way"
When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I don't speak with human pride
I'm confessing that I stumble-needing God to be my guide
When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not trying to be strong
I'm professing that I'm weak and pray for strength to carry on
When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not bragging of success
I'm admitting that I've failed and cannot ever pay the debt
When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I don't think I know it all
I submit to my confusion asking humbly to be taught
When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are far too visible but God believes I'm worth it
When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartache which is why I seek His name
When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I do not wish to judge
I have no authority--I only know I'm loved

Birthdays, Baseball and a Plane ride

So the weekend is almost over and we had a full one. Friday night we had ball games. Wes and Dustin both played. Our Softball girls won a huge game. Saturday morning Chris went on a plane ride with one of our friends. He has never been on a plane and he went up in a four passenger plane. He had a blast. Here are some pictures of his 30 min ride.

This is the plane he rode in.

This is our property from 2500 feet up. The kids and I were actually out in the front yard waving at him but you can't tell in the picture.

This is the High School Ball Fields

After his "Joy Ride" was over we did things around the house to get ready for Dustin's 16Th birthday party. Sorry no pictures of that though. We had about 20 kids here. They all behaved and had a good time. 5 of the boys spent the night and we were up til about 2 am so I did not make it to church today.

Chris got up this morning and went to pick up Gypsy, his new baby. She is so cute and is still adjusting being away from her momma and puppies. We had some friends come over to BBQ and hung out. The kids played around outside.

Poor thing is already so spoiled. We have been visiting her several times a week since she was born. So she already knows us but she has been handled so much that she cries to be held.

Early day tomorrow, Dustin has to be at school at 6:30 am for Work outs and I have been called for Jury Duty. I am a little anxious because I have never done it before. Kinda hoping I don't get picked. I have too much going on this week.

ok so maybe not

Okay just had too share this. Chris has been thinking with the price of gas and disel being so high, and the days warming up a bit, that he would start riding his motorcycle to work. He called me this after noon to make sure that his Insurance was current. Hello does that matter much when you don't have a motorcycle lisences, tags and inspection are both expired. Well guess it would save on the ticket cost if he got pulled over.

Sing it Baby!

Last night I taped Wes singing with the headphones on. First song is "Amazing Grace" by Chris Tomlin and the second is "I can only imagine" by Mercy me. Amazing Grace is his favorite song and it was so precious hearing him sing it.

Ok so I always post on Wordless Wednesday but today I had to post these videos..... Sorry for not having a picture but still wanted to contribute.

Starting of America's Favorite Passtime

Today was Opening Day of Little League Baseball. American's favorite passtime is oficially here. Up and at em early this morning. I had to go into work early for about 1 hour. By the time I got home both of the little rug rats were awake and on the couch. Chris had just gotten home from work. He has had one crazy week at work. 4 shut downs and only one of them were planned. He is pooped! Any way talked with him alittle bit and then he went to bed and me and the boys went to the ball park. Opening Ceremonies started at 10. It was nice to see all the players and coaches on the field praying together. We left right after it was over. Our picture time and game were later in the day. Wes and I went back at 1:30 and the game started at 3:30. Chris, Lauren and Lane came in time for the game. Dustin and Alicia (the girlfriend) were already there. Wes struck out the first time up to bat, but came back and did great. He even got the only Home Run on the team. And Chris missed it. We won 13-5. We had a moon walk out there so Lane and I stayed after the game for him to play. We are home now playing outside with the last little bit of day light while everyone else is gone to the race track. I will post some pictures of the day, later.
Go to my other Blog to see some of the Scripture Tags I've made lately. http://savedandtenderlyloved.blogspot.com/

He's MIA and I'm Numb

In blogging about addiction I have mentioned by brother Adam before. I heard from my sister last night, she brought me some "old" news. I say old because this is not the first go around. My brother is a drug addicted and has been his whole adult life and majority of his teen years.

I believe my brother was about 13 the first time I caught him smoking weed. I am assuming that he had been doing it well before the night I caught him. I know that he had already been drinking by then so there is no telling what else he had tried by that age. When he was around 16-17 he had admitted to doing alot of other drugs to me. Hard stuff.
After my parents divorce my mother had to send him to live with my dad in Houston. She had had enough of the drugs, lies, stealing and the cracked out friends that come along with that lifestyle. Not too long after that my mom was killed in a car accident, and he never made amens with her. That led him on a downward spiral of drug use and depression. Several years later he hit bottom and checked himself into rehab for cocaine use. He stayed there for 90 days and cleaned up. I was really proud of him. Keeping him from moving back to Houston I offered for him to move in with my family and gave him a job with our company. That was not long lived and I had to ask him to leave. He then went to my sisters. After several months of being there, he started getting back to his old ways again. Then it was on to a friends and then another....... Finally ending back up in Houston with my dad. Fast forward a couple of years. He has been doing well these past several months. Got into Culinary School in Jan. Doing great and loving it. Up until recently that is. Not sure what happened but a couple of weeks ago dad found Meth in the apt. and noticed that he was high. He has since been MIA for over a week, took the suburban, withdrew $600 from dad's checking acct. and has no cell phone on him.
My dad is beside himself, my sister is overly concerned, and I am just numb. I guess I feel this way because it has been going on for too long. The endless phone calls of what he has gotten into now; no job, no money, drugs, jail, stealing and the list goes on. He knows no other life style. Praise God he doesn't have a wife or child to take care of . He couldn't do it. He can't even take care of himself. He has never had too. He has been bailed out of everything "BAD" situation he has ever gotten himself into. All because of the guilt or pity he throws out to anyone that will fall for it.
Been there, fell for it and got screwed over. I have had my share days of worrying myself sick, crying myself to sleep and rubbing my knees raw in prayer for him. I just cant handle it this time. I am just now recovering from what I went through with my sister last year. Finding out that she was also an addict (prescription drugs) about did me in........
I use to have a hard time dealing with the fact that my family is full of addicts. I have brought it up in prayer so many times, read books and the bible on it. I am learning to cope with it. It is not something that I will ever truly understand. The drug/alcohol part of it anyway. There are addictions to all sorts of things and I am guilty of plenty. Just not ones that are mind altering so to speak. But I have something that is way more satisfying, Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can fill that empty hole in our heart. We could waste years trying to fill it with things, people, etc. But he is the only one that will fit in it.
I thank God that I am not following in my family foot steps and that I am not an addict of drug/alcohol. I am Saved by grace through faith and it is Christ that I put my trust into everyday to guard me from the tricks that Satan pulls on you to go out and get high! I pray that I will be able to break this spiritual curse that has been going on for years in my family. I also pray for their chains of bondage be broken. For them to turn their addictions over to Christ and ask for forgiveness, and Except Him in Salvation.
