Godly Housewives

Even Fairy Tale Women sit around and talk about their husbands. We as women can find ourselves "gossiping" about our husband too much if we aren't careful. Ranting and raving about this and that, mine doesn't do this or is lazy..... etc. We can get caught up in putting our husbands down, talking bad about them instead of lifting him up and talking positive about him. I myself have been guilty of this same thing. Lately the Lord has been convicting me of this very thing.

Instead we should pray for the Lord to teach us how to pray for our husbands and for him to give us a fresh perspective, a positive outlook, and renewed relationship with the man he has given us. Maybe we need to pray for ourselves as a wife, to submit to our husbands, to enable us to honor and respect him and rely on his guidance, care and to teach us how to be a suitable helper for him. Let us be an excellent wife who is her husband's joy and crown!

We should pray daily for our husband's temptations, fears, priorities, health, job, relationships, purpose, choices, fatherhood, protection and his faith with the Lord Jesus Christ. That is just naming a few. Stormie Omartian has a great little book of prayers specifically to pray for your husband. "The Power of a PRAYING WIFE, Book of Prayers"

sick and tired of my pity party

My last week has been a whirl wind of busyness and the sickies. I was sick all week and finally went to the dr. Thursday. It started as the flu and went straight to my chest. My lungs were inflamed and I was having trouble getting a deep breathe. I got 2 shots in my bottom and 2 packs of medicine and cough syrup. I rested the rest of that day and all day on Friday. By Saturday evening I was feeling alot better. Chris was gone most of the day to Houston for more work on his tattoo. So I did a little laundry and rested some more. By that evening I felt like cooking dinner and then Chris and Dustin got home. We watched some movies and were finished just before the bad weather hit. Which actually was not as bad as they had predicted. I got to bed about 11pm looking forward to all of us going to church together this morning. Well that didn't happen. I got called to work today at 3 am this morning. So I have been here all day very busy until now. Since I was not going to be home to help Wes finish his History Interview Project that is due tomorrow, I brought it with me and took care of the rest. Poor little guy has been feeling bad all weekend also. His throat is hurting him and looks really red and might have streph throat. I think I saw some blisters in there last night. Or it could have been food. Either way I am taking him to the clinic in the morning to get it checked out. He did come home Friday with a little fever from school.
High School official Baseball Season starts Tues. and I signed Wes up for Little League on Saturday morning. We wanted to start Lane in T-ball but the cut off for age 5 is one month too early for him to play this year. Poor little guy doesn't understand that he has to wait yet another year to get to play ball like his brothers.
I found out tonight that a man from our church has passed away. He has been suffering with cancer for several months now. It is really sad because we have all been praying for him.
He is free from cancer and pain now. His is with his Lord in Glory.
There are people all around us everyday that is dealing with cancer in someway. This is a terrible illness and it happens to alot of good families. There is a young teenage boy in our church that is also dealing with cancer. He just found out that he has it, already had one surgery to remove a tumor and now has 3 more. This has all happened since the first of the year. The Doctors don't even know what kind of Cancer it is so they can't treat him yet. But he is already willing to face that he might die. His is in 8th grade. Hello he isn't suppose to be going through this. His worst fear should be girls and homework.
Here I am with my little mountain of problems and I feel like that world is caving in on me somedays. My problems don't amount to a hill of beans. My family is healthy. We all have our own little pity parties when we should be praising God for what he has blessed us with. And lifting up people who are in true need of a miracle. Pray for him His name is Aaron.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day Myspace Graphics

too busy

I have been extremely busy with the women's ministry newsletter, home and work..... not to mention I don't feel very well. But the newsletter is done and hot off the press. I do believe it is the best one yet. I have been busy at work, one of the ladies that I fill in for has been sick since last week so I have been back and forth between 2 departments. I made a flying trip to Austin Sunday to get Dustin from his dad's. We have a lot going on with school and sports and work right now. But I am still alive. Praise the Lord!

My Chains are gone!

September 30, 2000 changed my life forever. That was the worse day of my life. My mother was coming to my house to go to Dustin’s peewee football game with us. However, she never made it to my house. She made the 45 minute drive to my road, but that was where her life ended. As she was stopped on the two lane highway waiting to turn on to my road, a 18 year old young man was in a hurry to work and recklessly slammed in to the back of her car going at least 70 mph. My mom never knew what hit her. She died instantly right there in her car by herself.
For the next 3 years I would fine myself spiraled down so far into depression. I had taken every antidepressant on the market, talk with therapist, psychologist but it was the Lord that would deliver me.
Chris told me that he wanted another child. He was so desperate to save me from depression that he thought having another baby would help me to be freed. With in the next 2 months I was pregnant. With raging hormones and changes in my body, I began to come out of depression. Lane Christopher was born June 3, 2003.
After he was born, Chris opened up to me and told me what his intensions were for having another child. I was absolutely furious with him. I took it, as he wanted Lane to replace my mother. However, it was not until September of 2006 that God showed me that it was His love to break my chains of depression. Chris and others prayed for me to get better. A child is a gift from God and it was that love he shared with me that freed me.
After the Lord had given me that, I was able to forgive Chris. Besides it was not him to begin with, it was God working through him. Praise God I have been out of that pit of depression ever since. My relationship with him is stronger than it ever has been. And through the gift of love to have another child I now have another piece of my mom in my family. Thank you Jesus, I praise you for what you have done in my life.

Wes got dunked, Praise God!

I had a great weekend. Friday night we went to Mardi Gras. I didn't have a great time there, but I dealt with it. A whole other story I would rather not go into. Saturday we had a few errands to do and then my sister came up with her family. We all went down to my SIL's house to cook out. That is when my fun began. I prayed this past week that the spirit to be so strong this weekend for Wes's Baptism that it would do a number on my sister.... Well Praise God it did. While we were at Sharon's (SIL) that evening she and I had a great time sharing with Colleen (my sis) the gospel and really witnessing to her. We must have talked for close to 2 hours. The best part about it was that she keep asking for more. After we got back to my house that night, I gave her some resources to take home with her.
Sunday we all got up for Church. Me, Colleen, Wes and my neice Shelby all went early for Sunday School and the hubsands and other boys came in time for the Baptism. My in-laws came up and Breck, Sharon and the kids came to watch Wes. I had 2 rows of Family there.
Here are the pictures of the "DUNK":

Wes's said it looks like Bro. Randy was about to knock him in the back of the head

And there you go,
3 kids down 1 to go.
Praise The Lord.
