Throw out the Trash

July of 2007 a group of 30 women from our church went to the Going Beyond Conference in Houston to see Priscilla Shirer. Oh My Goodness, what an event. It was awesome. There were ladies there from all over with different faiths, nationality, and circumstances. We all joined together to worship and hear from the Lord. He showed up alright, right there among us all. It was beautiful. The worship team and leader did a great job. We all worshipped the Lord, together as one!
The Lord spoke to me about impure things in my home. Oh not only did he speak to me about it, he just about slapped me in the face with it. I am a mother of 4 children, and married. I have battled with the comfort of intimacy with my husband and here I was letting these impure things in my home which was only there to destroy. My husband and I have participated in somethings in the past that were impure, unnatural, and full of sin. I had been so convicted of it that "That day I left it at the cross" and I was cleansed of the sexual sin we had been partaking in. I had my mind made up and was obeying the Lord to come home and clean house! On the way home ole Satan started doing a number on my mind of how mad I was going to make my spouse and my son. Now my son only had posters and pictures of "girls in bathing suits" up but it was inappropriate for him and in our home where we wanted the Lord to reign. So I stayed in prayer all the way home. The week prior to my weekend get away my teenagers had been at Teen Church Camp. When I got home and we all started discussing what the Lord had done at church camp and my conference, I got the confirmation. The Lord had also be convicting Dustin at Church camp about those same posters and pictures all over his walls. So together we tore them down and put them in a trash bag. Then I also threw out magazines and movies that my spouse and I had. I can't tell you what that has done for me. It felt great to throw out the "trash" from my bed room.
Here are some pictures from that weekend. We also got to hear from briefly, Beth Moore (sorry no picture of her, she was in and out like a flash) and Lisa Whelchel (Blair, from Facts of Life).
